Beliefs and the Energy They Create

Here I am again, talking about beliefs, but they are such a key ingredient in how we are in the world, that it bears repeating – over and over again!

Our belief system is what creates the blueprint for our lives. We watch our parents and those around us as children and we decide what works for others. We then choose which beliefs will work for us and we adopt them as our own.

And off we go into the world, armed with everything we think we need to get along.

Eventually, we start to realize that things aren't working out quite the way we expected them to. We attract experiences that we don't like, we feel unhappy with our friends or partner, we feel unfulfilled in our career, we are looking for love, peace and joy. We just want to be happy!

And yet we never seem to know how to find that happiness. We look in the world, we buy things and enter into relationships with people, all with the belief that these are the things that will make us happy. And they do for a while but eventually it fades again and we are left looking for something else that will make us happy. We get into a bit of a loop, doing this over and over again.

One day we get fed up with the same old, same old and we decide that there has to be a better way. What is that better way? How can we find the happiness we desire and keep it!

The first thing is that in the moments when we do feel happy, that happy feeling is not coming from anything in the world around us. We are actually connecting to our own source of happiness inside. If we no longer feel happy after a time, it is because we have forgotten that connection in ourselves.

Whether we are feeling happy or unhappy, guilty, angry or afraid, we send out an energy to the world that matches these emotions and thoughts.

People can feel this energy, even if they aren't conscious of it and will react to it in kind. This only ends up perpetuating the emotional energy and nothing changes in the world or in us.

Letting go of the beliefs that are creating negative feelings and thoughts can help us shift the energy that we project into the world. Feeling gratitude for all that we have in our lives can help to shift the feelings, thoughts and beliefs and allow us to create more loving energy within, which then is shared.

Allow yourself the privilege of feeling joy and love and sending joyful loving energy out to the world and watch the reflection of it coming back to you.

Have a wonderful week of joy!

Similar Actions Produce Similar Results

At some point in our lives we have all said to ourselves or someone else, "Why do I keep attracting the same type of people into my life", or "Why am I always having the same experiences over and over again".

We all go through this. We all reach a point in our lives when we realize and understand what we're doing is not working for us anymore. But what can we do about it?

As I've mentioned many times before, our belief system is the driving force behind our actions and experiences in our lives. These beliefs that we adopted when we were young children have become so ingrained in us that we have a hard time even recognizing them let alone questioning them.

And if our beliefs are what is causing us to behave in a certain way, then doesn't it make sense that unless we change these beliefs, then nothing in our life will change either?

If we continue to speak or act in the same way time after time, we will continue to have the same experiences over and over again. If our self-worth is low we will attract people and experiences that will confirm this belief. If we are angry all the time, there is no doubt we will constantly meet up with angry people from day to day.

If we act the same way day after day, we will get the same results each time. If we don't change the way we behave, think and believe, nothing will ever change for us. It will be very easy to predict our own future just by how things were in the past.

So if you want things in your life to change, if you want to stop attracting situations and people that you don't like, take a look at what you are feeling, thinking and the beliefs that may be creating these feelings and thoughts. This is the key to changing what you attract into your life.

Try something different; let each action or word come from the highest intention for good. Allow your open heart to create your experiences for you. From this place you will always find peace, love and joy.

Have a wonderful week of new and exciting experiences!

Identifying With an Image

So what do you think of yourself? We all have certain images of who we are and how we present ourselves to the world. And we all have an image of how the world sees us.

When we are small we adopt a set of beliefs that are the driving force behind everything we do in our lives. These beliefs cause us to create certain images of ourselves that we are constantly putting out into the world. "I am a good girl", "I'm a bad boy", "I am a victim", and on and on it goes.

Once the image is created, we then act in such a way that validates this image. If we believe we are the good girl, we will go about trying to prove this to the world. And what do we look for in return? Simply, we look for the world to validate this image - to show us our value.

There is no place out in the world that makes us feel valued, worthy, loved or peaceful. Those feelings come from within, from our source, the centre of all that is. We can create an image in order to find these emotions out in the world, but it will never be enough. We will always look for more.

And it doesn't matter if the image is good or bad because creating and showing an image is merely the ego's way of looking for reinforcement.

In effect, identifying with an image only causes suffering because every moment when we are not connected to our source of peace and love within, we are searching for something in the world. And we never get it from the world. What we get is suffering.

Even the most unconscious thought can create an image. What if you were to say, "I have a bad memory"? This is a belief, an image of yourself that you have put out into the world. And each time you want to remember something, you have the thought, "I have a bad memory." What happens? Chances are you don't remember a darn thing.

What if you changed that thought to "I have a great memory"? Or what if you didn't even bother judging your memory at all? How much easier would life be to not have to worry about keeping up an image of yourself?

Letting go of the images that we identify with can allow us to connect with our source of love and peace and in doing so, be in the world without judgment, criticism or negative thoughts.

Our intentions would be pure and loving, our hearts would be open and compassionate and we would have less stress, less pain and less suffering. Ultimately we would be more authentic in our lives.

What is your image of yourself? There are probably several images that you carry with you. How do you see yourself? Write down some of the images you have of yourself.

How do you think others see you? Write down some of the images you think others have of you.

How do you feel about this image? What are you looking for in the world when you put this image across? Write down how you feel.

What is the belief that is creating these feelings? Write it down. Is this belief true? Chances are it’s not. Allow yourself to feel the emotions that come up. Let yourself freely accept the emotions and acknowledge them. Then let go of the mistaken belief. Forgive anyone who may have made you feel not good about yourself. Forgive yourself for this mistaken belief. Feel the freedom of release.

Have a wonderful authentic week.
